Boston Retail Store Design – Concrete Floor Installation Details
Each project starts out with surface preparation. The first step is to grind the concrete floor to remove old coatings or bond breakers. Occasionally the floor will require a combination of grinding and shot blasting. Blemishes and cracks are repaired and if the floor has a moisture issue our MVT, moisture Vapor Treatment will apply.
After surface prep, level 9 self leveling concrete is applied. Level 9 is applied at a minimum of 1/8″ thick but can be applied thicker depending on height of floor vents and door jams. Level 9 can be a wear surface that can be polsihed or in this case, was applied. Micro 6 is a spray on concrete coating that is used to create a custom polished surface with unique coloring to match specifications.
Coloring for Micro 6 is with CST410 a liquid pigment that is mixed into the concrete. This is an excellent system for retail store design or any space looking to enhance curb appeal. It can be applied to interior and exterior floor.
To protect the surface and enhance the retail store design, a combination of our water based epoxy and polyurethane is an ideal system.
